AUDIO SCAVENGER HUNT
Interpret these sounds however you’d like. Be creative! See how many you can find.

The feeling of loneliness / The feeling of happiness / The sound of cold / A hum / A metal sound / A ticking sound / The sound of jealousy / Squishiness


Walking alone while others talk and walk together.
It made me lonely at the park. So, I chose to capture the moment.
Sitting around the Brooklyn park and listening to the water sound, everything around the time was so peaceful. A couple was taking a wedding photo and, people looked so happy around the couple. It was happiness.
When people go into the elevator, it seems like everything is frozen. They were chatting and laughing togheter just before, but as they were in the elevator, the air was frozen, and every conversation was stopped.
I hum a lot at home especially when playing guitar. I captured the moment of me humming.
When opening and closing a door in front of the ITP floor, I realized that it makes some interesting metal sounds. Here is an example.
Keyboard ticking sound.
Kids playing with random friends, and parents seem like they don't have any worries, and enjoy the present. When was the last time I played with my parents like that and people I randomly met? I was so jealous of their heart.
I was squishing a sponge.

Week_2-3 group project_Ideas of Sounds System

Theme: Re-design the sounds of transportation system

*Can we also re-design the sounds of the whole transportation system to create a new song of the city?
* The sounds of taxi, bus, train, subway, school bus, bike…, even the sound of traffic light.
*When we combine all these sounds, we might create a fantastic city symphony. Each type of transportation could be like a track in the city’s song.

  1. bus stop sign sound short/water drop
  2. doors open sound short/hum/rising tone
  3. doors close sound short/hum
  4. when bus is coming long/beat
  5. when tag success short/ticking
  6. when tag fail short/ticking

- The main theme is a Harmony. Harmony between people in NYC, Harmony with nature in NYC, Harmony with Diversity.
Bringing all the voice together, we intended to deliver the joyful emotion and energy in NYC in harmonic sound.
However, when you get onto the bus, you hear all the natural sound, water flowing, ticking sounds made by glasses, wood...
It tells the story that even when you get onto the bus, you still communicate with the outside, hearing very natural sounds.

Stop Motion

- Our theme is to bring the skills we have learned through the class so far. - Sound editing, Stop motion - We captured the fingers dancing on the guitar to make stop motion, and added the guitar sound on the motion, so that it adds the vibe.
